🔍 Overview {#overview}
The Medical and Health Recruitment Board (MHRB), Assam has invited online applications for the recruitment of Registrar / Demonstrator / Resident Physician and other faculty-level positions across various departments in Government Medical Colleges of Assam.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply through the official portal at nhm.assam.gov.in. A total of 620 posts are up for grabs, and the application window is open until April 25, 2025.

🔬 Departments Include:
Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Anaesthesiology, Cardiology, CTVS, Dermatology, ENT, Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Pathology, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, Urology, and many more (complete list available in official notice).
♿ Disability Category Eligibility:
Orthopedically Handicapped (minimum one arm and one leg functional), low vision, hearing impaired, and blind candidates (with assistive devices).
🎓 Eligibility Criteria {#eligibility}
📘 Broad Speciality:

MD/MS/DNB/MDS in relevant disciplines (as per NMC/NBE/DCI norms).

For non-clinical departments:
-
Anatomy: MS/PhD in Medical Anatomy
-
Biochemistry: MD/MSc with PhD in Medical Biochemistry
-
Physiology: MD/MSc with PhD in Medical Physiology
-
📕 Super Speciality:
-
MD/DNB in General Medicine or MS/DNB in General Surgery.
-
DM/M.Ch./DNB candidates will be given preference.
📌 Doctors already working under Rule 17A or contractual engagement in Assam's health services will receive additional weightage.
🎂 Age Limit & Relaxation {#age-limit}

Minimum Age: 21 Years

Maximum Age: 45 Years (as on 01.01.2023)
Age Relaxation:

PWD Candidates: Up to 10 years (irrespective of category)
💰 Pay Scale & Allowances {#pay-scale}

Academic Pay Level 10: ₹57,700 – ₹1,82,400/- per month
-
Plus other applicable government allowances
📝 Selection Process {#selection}
The selection process will be notified separately based on the number of applications received. The Board reserves the right to determine the method of selection.
